The Bow Valley Adoption Process
Dreaming of Puppies?
It starts with a dream! If you're interested in bringing one of our amazing puppies into your home fill out an Adoption Application to begin the discussion!
Once we receive your application, we will review it and get back to you. We'll discuss upcoming litters with you, and let you know about our current waiting list.
We have recently seen a large increase in interest for new puppies. Bow Valley is committed to breeding healthy Labradoodles in a humane manner. If you are interested in a Bow Valley Labradoodle there will be a wait time associated with this commitment. Take this time to research your new puppy and prepare your family for a decades long commitment to a new family member!
The Waiting Game
When you're ready to say YES to adding one of our wonderful Labradoodles to your family, we require a non-refundable reservation fee of $500. This secures your place on the waiting list. The reservation fee can be paid via e-mail transfer.
We stay in contact with all our families waiting for puppies. We will email you when your puppy is born, and let you know what to expect in the weeks to come.
Planning for Success
When your puppy is 3 weeks old, we'll ask you to provide more information about your lifestyle, personalities, and expectations for your puppy. This information, in addition to your original application, will help us match you with a puppy.
Second payment is due at 4 weeks and final payment is due when the puppy reaches 7 weeks!
Meet and Greet
Between 5 - 6 weeks, we will have a 'Meet the Puppies' Day. You will be given a day and time for you and your family to meet and to ask all your questions.
Providing weather is cooperative we try and plan a in person meeting around 6 weeks old.
At this time we ask for your top three puppy preferences. Please note temperament is key.
We look at temperament, preferences, deposit list order, hpmework assignment and any special considerations for our families at 7 weeks of age, after which each puppy will be assigned to a family. You will receive an e-mail introducing you to your new family member!! Contract will follow for you to sign.
It’s Puppy Time!
At 8 weeks old, the wait is finally over and the puppies are ready to leave us. You will be given a pick-up date and time to come and collect your new family member!!
If your puppy needs to extend their visit due to travel or a family needing to pick up the puppy beyond pick up day(s) there will be a $30/day fee.
In the event that we cannot provide you with a puppy or if you cannot take a puppy at the time of availability, you can switch litters or wait until the timing is better for you. The deposit is non-refundable.
Bow Valley Labradoodles breeds only multi-generational Australian Labradoodles. We have found that they truly are extremely intelligent, abundantly affectionate and forever your best friend.
